WINE DESCRIPTION
Jarhead Red is a red blend produced by Jarhead Wine Company, a winery located in California. Typically, the wine is predominantly composed of Merlot with some Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot that add tannins and acidity to the soft and plummy Merlot. Grapes are crushed and fermented in inert vessels. Prior to bottling, the lots were aged for around 17 months to round out the tannins and harmonise the separate blending components.

This Jarhead Jarhead Red is a bold and robust red blend, full of aromas of ripe and dark fruit, spices, and a hint of earthiness.On the palate, the alcohol is well integrated. The wine is full-bodied and concentrated, with a fine balance between the acidity and supple tannins that provide contrast to the luscious, dark fruit flavors. The finish is moderate in length marked by notes of blackberry and cassis coupled with a hint of dark chocolate shavings.
