Jean-Marc and his children, Lydie and Benjamin, consistently craft some of the most alluring and approachable wines from their extensive Burgundian holdings. Their collection of Puligny Montrachet premier crus exhibits remarkable individual character. Jean-Marc's family boasts a long and illustrious Burgundian legacy. He inherited vineyards from his grandfather, Etienne Sauzet, in the early 1990s, having spent his formative years working at the family's domaine, Henri Boillot. Subsequently, he oversaw winemaking at Domaine Olivier Leflaive. In the 1980s, he initiated his own wine production from his vineyards, which were significantly enriched by the Sauzet inheritance, featuring a superb selection of Puligny premier cru sites. The family extended their straightforward yet precise winemaking philosophy to the Côte Chalonnaise and more recently, to Mâcon.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
This J.M.Boillot Puligny-Montrachet Premier Cru Les Referts offers a complex nose of yellow fruits and citrus zest, complemented by subtle notes of hazelnut and almond. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied and elegant, with great acidity and a deep, lingering finish that is nicely balanced by its toasty, nutty characters. It is a classic expression of the Premier Cru, with great length and concentration, and a wonderful expression of the terroir.
