Walter Georis, born to a Belgian father and German mother, immigrated to the U.S. from Belgium in 1956 at age 11. After spending his youth in Southern California, he moved to Carmel to pursue fine arts. There, he designed the renowned Casanova restaurant, celebrated for its cuisine and wine cellar. Inspired by his European upbringing on family farms, Walter combined his passion for fine wines with viticulture's challenges. In 1981, he purchased a ranch in Carmel Valley, planted vineyards, and began crafting exceptional wines. Guided by French expertise, Georis Wines reflect his dedication to quality and the art of winemaking.
