WINE DESCRIPTION
Gabriel Meffre Saint-Joseph Les Chaponnes is made from organically-grown Syrah sourced from the Saint-Joseph appellation in the Northern Rhône, France. Saint-Joseph is located on the west of the Rhone River, known for giving less tannic and more approachable wines compared to some of its more prestigious neighbours. The winemaking process involves selection and sorting of grapes, before the wines are fermented and matured prior for release.

Gabriel Meffre Saint-Joseph Les Chaponnes reveals an attractive deep purple hue in the glass.The nose offers a textbook expression of Syrah with aromas of ripe blackberries, blueberries and plums, accompanied by hints of violets and black pepper.
The palate is medium-bodied with a velvety texture that coats the mouth. The flavors are rich and pure, featuring ripe black fruits, such as blackberries and plums, intertwined with notes of licorice and smoked meats.

The Rhone wine region is located in southeastern France. It runs along the Rhone River roughly from Lyon in the north to Avignon in the south. It is divided into two main sub-regions: the Northern Rhone, running from Lyon to Montelimar, and the Southern Rhone, from Montelimar to Avignon. Although wines of all color are made, both regions are most famous for thier red wine. The Northern Rhone is known for its full-bodied red wines made from Syrah grapes with the possible inclusion of some white grapes, while the Southern Rhone is known for its blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes.
