WINE DESCRIPTION

Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese is produced from late-harvested, individually selected berries with high levels of ripeness. The estate is located in the heart of the Mosel, in the village of Brauneberg, opposite the Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr. Oriented due south on schist soil, parts of the Juffer Sonnenuhr slope can reach 80% in certain places making hand harvesting essential. After gently pressing, the must is only partially fermented in neutral vessels to retain sweetness in the wine, helping to offset the racy acidity.

This Fritz Haag Brauneberger Juffer Sonnenuhr Riesling Beerenauslese has a beautiful golden color that coats the glass.The wine is hugely complex with a delightful bouquet of tropical fruits, dried apricots, honey and white flowers. On the palate, it is luscious and sweet, with a rich, creamy texture and an intense, extremely persistent finish. The combination of sweetness and acidity is perfectly balanced, lifted by an intense minerality that adds a layer of elegance.
