Fratelli Urciuolo Aglianico is a distinguished red wine rooted in ancient Greek heritage, reflecting the historic introduction of the Aglianico grape to Italy's Campania region by the Greeks. Produced by Fratelli Urciuolo, this 100% Aglianico wine comes from the clay-rich hills of Irpinia, specifically around Mirabella, Castelfranci, and Montemarano. The vineyards, situated at altitudes between 400 and 550 meters with southeast exposure, are planted at a density of about 4,000 vines per hectare. These 15-year-old vines are trained using the spur-pruned cordon system. Harvested from late October to early November, the wine undergoes refinement for six months in large oak barrels, followed by an additional six months in the bottle. Fratelli Urciuolo Aglianico offers a rich, structured palate with deep flavors, embodying the unique terroir and meticulous winemaking of the region.
