WINE DESCRIPTION
Foxen Williamson-Doré Vineyard Syrah is a premium wine produced by Foxen, a renowned winery in Santa Barbara County, California. The grapes for this wine are sourced from the Williamson-Doré Vineyard, which is known for its unique terroir and ideal growing conditions for Syrah. The wine is made using traditional winemaking techniques, including hand-harvesting and aging in French oak barrels. The resulting wine is a full-bodied Syrah with rich flavors of dark fruit, black pepper, and hints of smoke and leather. It has a smooth and velvety texture with a long, lingering finish. This wine is a perfect choice for those who appreciate the complexity and elegance of a well-crafted Syrah.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
The International Wine Report gave this wine 93 Points, and wrote the following:
"The Willamson-Doré Syrah is fermented with partial whole-cluster fruit and is aged in 41% new French oak barrels, which gives it some much-needed tannin structure and spice.A dusty nose that elevated into aromas of ripe red cherry, strawberry fruit leather, iron ore, ground black pepper, and hints of charcuterie spill from the glass. Herbaceous and meaty on the palate, the tannins are already integrated into the rich and somewhat sweet-feeling finish."

Region: Central Coast California
The Central Coast of California is a wine lover's paradise, boasting a wide variety of climates, soils, and grape varieties. Located between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the Central Coast spans from Monterey County in the north to Santa Barbara County in the south. With its diverse topography and Mediterranean climate, the Central Coast is home to some of the most renowned wineries in the United States.
The Central Coast has a long and storied history of winemaking, dating back to the mid-1800s. The first vineyards were planted in the Santa Clara Valley, and by the late 1800s, the region was producing some of the finest wines in the country. The region's reputation for quality wines was further solidified in the early 1989, when the Santa Clara Valley was declared among the first American Viticultural Area (AVA) in the United States.CUSTOMER RATING
