WINE DESCRIPTION
At Fox Creek Vineyard, meticulous care is taken from vineyard to bottle. The Shiraz is crafted from carefully selected fruit blocks known for their suitability to the vintage's conditions. After individual fermentations of 7-10 days, the wine is aged in a mix of French and American oak barrels, allowing for a layered and generous expression.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Fox Creek Shiraz presents a complex nose with prominent notes of plums and blackberries, complemented by spices and dried herbs. The palate reveals a rich mid-section where vanilla oak adds depth, balanced by soft tannins and finishing with hints of chocolate and mocha. The wine is fresh, young, and vibrant, making it enjoyable now, but it also has the potential to develop further in the bottle.

Winery:  Fox Creek
Region:  McLaren Vale
McLaren Vale is an important wine-producing region in the Fleurieu Peninsula, south of Australian. It is renowned for its award-winning Shiraz, as well as other grape varieties such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Mourvedre, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. McLaren Vale has a long and proud history of winemaking, with the first vines planted in the region in 1838. The region’s first commercial winery, Bleasdale, was established in 1850, and the region has been producing quality wines ever since. In the early 1900s, McLaren Vale was one of the most important wine regions in Australia, and it continues to be a major player in the Australian wine industry today.

Dimensional and layered wine with a full bodied and velvety texture. The initial aromas of black cherry, vanilla, and mint are immediately apparent, followed by a nuanced integration of red fruit, tobacco, and leather. As the wine opens up, the oak and leather touches become more pronounced, at the same time the pomegranate suggestions add a fruity dimension. The impression is long and satisfying, with a refined finish that lingers. However, the wine's dryness becomes more apparent as it ages, and it may not be to every palate's taste. Overall, a decent wine that improves with age, but may not be a outstanding in its current form.
