WINE DESCRIPTION
Eugenio Bocchino La Perucca Nebbiolo d'Alba is a single-vineyard wine that lies between Barolo and Barbaresco. La Perucca vineyard was planted in 1995 on clay, limestone and sand soils. Fermentation takes place in steel tanks, the wine is transferred to large Slavonian oak barrels for maturation for around three years before it is bottled. It spends a further two years in bottle prior to being released. This ambitious Nebbiolo d'Alba far exceeds the minimum aging requirements for the appellation.

Eugenio Bocchino La Perucca Nebbiolo d'Alba displays a pale ruby color with a faint bricking at the rim.On the nose, notes of sour cherries, tart plum and violets, accompanied by subtle hints of earthiness and tar. The palate is well-structured, with grippy tannins and a medium to full body. Flavors of crunchy red fruits, such as strawberries and cherries, are complemented by notes of tobacco, leather, and a touch of licorice. It has a high level of acidity that provides freshness and a long, lingering finish.
