WINE DESCRIPTION
Ernest & Julio Gallo Estate Pinot Noir from the winery's Signature Series showcases the finest grapes from three renowned vineyards—MacMurray Estate, Del Rio, and Laguna Ranch—each planted with a distinct clone. Crafted under the direction of third-generation winemaker Gina Gallo, this artisanal wine honors the enduring legacy of its founders. The Russian River Valley's cool coastal climate and varied soils create an ideal environment for Pinot Noir. The hand-harvested grapes are vinified separately to express each vineyard's unique character, utilizing techniques such as whole cluster fermentation and native yeast fermentations, before aging in a combination of new and second-use French oak barrels. This Pinot Noir embodies the Gallo Family's commitment to quality and innovation.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Gallo Estate Pinot Noir opens with enticing aromas of dark cherry, pomegranate, and plum, accented by notes of toasted vanilla and a hint of earthiness. The palate reveals vibrant layers of red and black berries, intertwined with sweet spices, all framed by fine-grained tannins and a refreshing acidity. This wine is an excellent match for roasted duck, grilled salmon, or mushroom risotto. With its depth and concentration, this opulent Pinot Noir has the potential to evolve beautifully in the bottle for up to two decades. Cheers!
