WINE DESCRIPTION
Emiliana Natura Merlot is produced by Chile’s Guilisasti family that founded the winery in 1986. They are dedicated to producing wines made from organic grapes and collectively, they constitute the single largest source of estate-grown organic wines in the world. The grapes for the Emiliana Natura Merlot are grown in a Mediterranean climate marked by hot days and temperated nights. The nearby Cachapoal River abates summer temperatures by night whilst the riverbed derived soils that are rich in deep alluvial clay loam and clay provides water retention, which contributes to good grape ripening. The wine is aged in new french oak to add an extra layer of complexity contributing sweet baking spices to the rich, black fruit flavor profile.

This Emiliana Natura Merlot is a deep ruby-colored wine with aromas of dark cherries and damson, as well as hints of earth and herbs.On the palate, the wine is smooth and velvety, with flavors of ripe black fruits complemented by a hint of spice. The finish is long and persistent, with soft, ripe tannins and a lingering hint of sweet spices. Overall, this is a well-crafted, food-friendly wine with a nice balance of fruit and earthy notes.
