Viña Echeverría Merlot Gran Reserva is made from hand-picked fruit from Chile's Colchagua Valley. The grapes are destemmed and crushed to liberate the juice. It is then transferred and fermented in large open stainless steel tanks with extended skin maceration to build the tannic structure. The wine is aged in small, used French oak barrels for around a year to further round out the tannins; it also adds a hint of sweet baking spices that complements the dark fruit profile.
