Domaine Zind Humbrecht Gewürztraminer Alsace Turckheim comes the gravelly valley floor of Turckheim. Gewurztraminer has the potential to ripen to very high sugar level but needs some time to also ripen physiologically. Of all the cultivars planted in Alsace, Gewurztraminer is the one that struggles the most to change colour (véraison) and is the richest in polyphenols, hence the need of a warmer micro-climate and early ripening site, conditions found in Turckheim.

Gustave Lorentz Réserve Gewürztraminer is a produced from a combination of our vines and grapes selected from producers based in the commune of Bergheim and its surrounding areas. Once harvested, the whole grapes are processed in pneumatic presses with the resulting must clarified by sedimentation to remove any impurities before fermentation. The alcoholic fermentation is carried out slowly by means of controlled thermoregulation in stainless vats to preserve fruit character. Clarification through gentle filtering is carried out prior to bottling so that the wine is not damaged. The Reserve Gewurztraminer is extremely expressive with a bright floral profile.

From the finest parcels in Niedermorschwihr, Jean Boxler, an Alsace benchmark, meticulously vinifies his wines, drawing inspiration from organic practices while eschewing certification. Unaided by additives, natural yeasts guide fermentation in ancient foudres over 11 months, expressing terroir in its purest form. This particular wine unfolds fruity notes of peaches and blood oranges on the nose, leading to a dry palate with a mineral backbone. The finish is subtly drying. Aeration is recommended before opening to unlock its full aromatic potential.

The winemaking tradition of the Humbrecht family dates back to the time of the 30 Years' War (1620). Here, in the deep Alsace, the son refines the craft of the father, while the grandson perfects the efforts of the son. The house Zind-Humbrecht, as it presents itself today, was established in 1959 through the merger of the previously independently producing family branches of the Humbrecht dynasty. Alsace has always been known for robust white wines, and Domaine Zind-Humbrecht is dedicated to vinifying them in their authentic form.
