WINE DESCRIPTION

Domaines Lupier El Terroir is a dry red wine made by the winemaker Raul Perez. The wine is made from 100% Garnacha grown in 12 different vineyards all of around 500m in altitude. The vines are all mature with an average age of 75 years. The winemaking involves maturation for more than 12 months in French oak. The end result is a wine of deep concentration, expressing red fruit and dired herbs. The more modest structure of Garnacha makes this wine akin to a warm hug. Perfect for winter months or for newcomers to red wine who want a rich drinking experience without the tannins or acidity of Cabernet Sauvignon.

Domaines Lupier El Terroir is a domaine that specalizes in old vine Garnacha.The more concentrated fruit of the lower yielding older vines is on full display here. The color is a deep ruby that shines in the glass. The nose in perfumed with notes of strawberry and cherry together with dried herbs such as anise. It is on the palate that the concentration becomes evident. The wine is full bodied with great density of fruit upon the mid-palate. The velvety tannins and refreshing acidity make for a rich, ripe, and round style overall.
