WINE DESCRIPTION
Clos Windsbuhl sits atop the village of Hunawihr in Alsace, characterized by its Muschelkalk limestone soil, prevalent in this region. The shallow topsoil here allows vines to swiftly reach the bedrock. Located in a late-ripening climate, the warmth of the soil and south to southeast exposure compensate for the elevation and the cooler influence of the nearby Vosges Forest. This unique setting defines the style of wines from this historic Clos – aromatic, delicate, and expressive yet rigorously structured with vibrant acidity. The vines, planted in the 1950s/60s/early 70s, still contribute to this second-label wine.
