WINE DESCRIPTION
Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru 'Chevret' is dry, concentrated, aromatic, red wine with gossamer tannins, and the influence of whole bunches and new oak intended for cellarinf for a decade before drinking. The wine is made from 100% Pinot Noir from Premier Cru rated vineyard located at the lower reaches of a slope on clay soils. The result is a riper, fleshier style of Volnay. The winemaking includes both the partial use of whole bunches and new oak for aromatic lift and complex spice notes. Although this is a rich style than many Volnay wines this also makes it a good choice for regular drinkers of New World Pinot Noir looking to branch out into Burgundy.

This Domaine Nicolas Rossignol Volnay 1er Cru 'Chevret' is a delightful, lmedium-bodied red Burgundy, with notes of fresh black cherries and raspberries, complex floral lift, and a hint of earthy spices on the nose.On the palate, the wine is bright and elegant, with a fine balance between the acidity and dense, but silken, tannins. The finish is long and persistent, with a a typicity that will be appreciated by Burgundy connoisseurs.
