Wine Description:
Domaine Michel Niellon Chassagne-Montrachet Rouge is a red wine from the French region of Burgundy. Chassagne-Montrachet is more known for the production of white wines but it also produces a smaller volume of red wine. The wines are usually for earlier drinking. This example, from a family-owned producer, was made entirely from Pinot Noir that was picked early and then subjected to cold maceration to maximise the fruit flavors without etracting any unripe tannins. The result is a supple beetroot and cherry pit scented red with silky tannins and a medium body. It is well suited dishes based on game brids or serving as an introduction to the red wines of Brugundy.
