Wine Description:
Established in 1982 by Vincent Cantié in Collioure, La Tour Vieille safeguards family heritage and preserves the steep vineyards of Cru Collioure & Banyuls from tourism expansion. Christine Campadieu joined, bringing her Banyuls vineyard. Carved into schist mountains with paved drainage ditches, the vineyard employs close-to-organic practices. Steep slopes and traditional architecture resist mechanization, requiring manual labor. The Côte Vermeille's unique terroir, with Grenache as the primary variety, yields complex Banyuls wines. Both Banyuls and Collioure, producing sweet and dry wines, benefit from the windy, sunny Mediterranean climate. La Tour Vieille, led by Vincent, exemplifies consistency and achievement in winemaking.
