WINE DESCRIPTION
Domaine la Fourmone Les Ceps d'Or Vacqueyras is made from a blend of mostly Grenache and a proportion of Mourvèdre.
The plots that supply the grapes for this wine come from two islets located on the appellation's plateau at the foothills of the Dentelles de Montmirail. After harvesting the old bush vines, the wines are fermented in inert vessels before being aged in a combination of concrete vats and oak demi-muids (large barrels). The wines are aged for a short period in bottle prior to release.

This wine, Domaine la Fourmone Les Ceps d’Or Vacqueyras exhibits a medium ruby hue with heavy tearing.The nose presents a complex bouquet of ripe red and dark fruits, such as strawberries, blackberries and plums, accompanied by hints of spices and herbs. Upon tasting, the flavors of red and dark fruits continue to dominate, with additional notes of black pepper, olives and licorice adding depth and complexity. The wine's structure is robust, yet elegant, with a long and satisfying finish.

The Rhone wine region is located in southeastern France. It runs along the Rhone River roughly from Lyon in the north to Avignon in the south. It is divided into two main sub-regions: the Northern Rhone, running from Lyon to Montelimar, and the Southern Rhone, from Montelimar to Avignon. Although wines of all color are made, both regions are most famous for thier red wine. The Northern Rhone is known for its full-bodied red wines made from Syrah grapes with the possible inclusion of some white grapes, while the Southern Rhone is known for its blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes.
