The Roty family, shrouded in mystery, guards the details of their domaine closely. Even after Joseph Roty's death in 2008, his sons Philippe and Pierre-Jean continue the legacy. Since the '90s, Philippe worked alongside his father, maintaining traditional winemaking practices. Old vines from as early as 1881 contribute to their terroir-focused approach. Vinification is temperature-controlled, and aging occurs in both new and used high-toast barrels. Notably, Roty's Marsannays showcase the underestimated appellation's excellence, potentially gaining official recognition with proposed 1er Cru status for their prime vineyards in Marsannay.
