WINE DESCRIPTION
Domaine Eric et Joël Durand Confidence Cornas embodies the pinnacle of quality winemaking in the renowned Cornas appellation. Situated in the southern part of the Saint-Joseph appellation, the vineyard spans approximately 20 hectares of steep, granite-rich slopes meticulously tended by brothers Joël and Eric Durand. With an average vine age of 30 years, the terroir imparts depth and character to the grapes, exclusively Syrah, grown here. Manual harvesting and traditional vinification methods, including daily punch-downs during a 20-day period, ensure optimal extraction and concentration. The wine is then aged in oak barrels for a year, with 30% new oak and the remainder seasoned between 1 to 4 years. Known for their dedication to manual labor and attention to detail, the Durand brothers produce red wines of exceptional quality, characterized by concentrated textures and a distinctive graphite, precise, and mineral-driven style that reflects the unique terroir of Cornas.
