WINE DESCRIPTION
Domaine Dominique Gallois Charmes-Chambertin hails from the Grand Cru vineyard located in the village Gevrey-Chambertin known for giving some of the most structured and powerfully tannic wines in the Côte de Nuits. The Pinot Noir vines were planted in 1910, the parcel is a near neighbour of the appellation “Griotte” and lying beneath “Chambertin”, benefitting from an excellent climat that confers on it the elegance of Charmes, the power of Chambertin and the roundness of Griotte. Wines are aged in cellar for around 18 months in oak barrels from the Allier region, with a part in new oak.

This stunning Grand Cru from Domaine Dominique Gallois offers a complex nose of ripe red and dark fruit, earthy aromas and hints of cedar and smoke.On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied and well-balanced with firm tannins and a lively acidity. The notes of red and black cherry persist, accompanied by notes of mushroom and sous-bois giving an intriguing savory edge to the wine. Its finish is long, with lingering notes of dark fruit and spice.
