WINE DESCRIPTION
Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Fairendes comes from the northern-most of the lieux-dits of the 1er Cru Morgeots. Whilst Morgeot is mostly planted with Pinot Noir, les Fairendes is higher on the slopes and has more limestone meaning Chardonnay is better suited for this site. Grapes are hand-harvested, pressed and the resulting juice settles for around 1 day before it is transferred into small oak barriques for fermentation. The wine is aged approximately 15 months in oak barrels, around a third of which is new.

Domaine Coffinet-Duvernay's Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru 'Les Fairendes' has a pale lemon appearance in youth.On the nose, it offers a complex bouquet of perfectly ripe stone fruits such as peach and nectarine, along with hints of lemon peel and white flowers. There is also a subtle presence of oak and chalky minerality that contribute to its overall complexity. The wine is harmonious, revealing layer after layer of finely detailed flavors of fruit, minerality and well-integrated oak spice. The wine exhibits a medium body, with a creamy texture that envelops the firm core of acidity.
