WINE DESCRIPTION
The Domaine Chamfort wine estate nestles at the base of the Dentelles de Montmirail, a majestic limestone range home to oak, Aleppo pine, cedar, olive trees, and fragrant herbs. Vasco Perdigao acquired Domaine Chamfort in 2010, after honing his winemaking skills in the northern Côtes-du-Rhône. Partnering with Sonia Léorat, Vasco steers the estate with a philosophy focused on preserving the finesse and fruit of the grapes, reflecting the authenticity of each terroir. The estate has been converting to organic agriculture since 2018, achieving ECOCERT certification in 2021. Vineyard work is primarily mechanical, using organic fertilizers and natural disease preventatives.

Although wines of all color are made, both regions are most famous for thier red wine. The Northern Rhone is known for its full-bodied red wines made from Syrah grapes with the possible inclusion of some white grapes, while the Southern Rhone is known for its blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes.
