WINE DESCRIPTION
This 4.20-hectare climat, located in the heart of the village beneath Clos de la Roche, is considered one of the most prestigious Premier Crus of Morey-Saint-Denis. The estate owns a 33-are plot planted with forty-year-old Pinot Noir vines, cultivated without herbicides for over a decade. These old vines produce small, highly concentrated berries. Harvested by hand in buckets and carefully sorted on a vibrating table, the grapes are meticulously destemmed and transferred into vats by gravity. To preserve the delicacy of Pinot Noir, interventions are kept minimal, and aging is done with only 25% new oak barrels, maintaining the wine's elegance and purity.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
The Domaine Anne et Herve Sigaut Morey-Saint-Denis 1er Cru 'Les Millandes' is an exceptional wine that offers the unique characteristics of the Morey-Saint-Denis appellation. With its premier cru status, this wine offers a level of complexity and refinement that is truly remarkable.
On the nose, this wine displays a captivating bouquet of red fruits, such as ripe cherries and cranberries, intertwined with delicate floral notes of violets and roses. There is also a subtle hint of earthiness, reminiscent of damp forest floor, adding depth and intrigue to the aromatic profile.
The palate is equally impressive, with a harmonious balance between fruit, acidity, and tannins. The red fruit flavors continue to shine, accompanied by hints of blackcurrants and a touch of spice. The wine's medium body and silky texture contribute to its overall elegance, while the well-integrated tannins provide structure and a lingering finish.
