Dog Point Section 94, from the esteemed Marlborough winery, bears witness to Sauvignon Blanc vines averaging 24 years, save for Section 94, where vines surpass 30 years. Nestled at the convergence of Brancott and Omaka valleys, this exceptional white wine is organically cultivated and fermented in oak barrels. Tasting a glass of Dog Point Section 94 is a journey to the roots, originating from the first vines planted in this corner of the world in 1975. Co-founders Ivan Sutherland and James Healy, influenced by Cloudy Bay, initiated Dog Point in 2002. Section 94, grown on clayey, loamy soils with optimal drainage, thrives in the sunny, dry climate with significant day-night temperature shifts. Hand-harvested and whole-cluster vinified, this wine undergoes pressing and fermentation with stems, resulting in a tannic, full-bodied composition enriched with polyphenols. Aged in oak for approximately 18 months, Dog Point Section 94 is bottled without fining, embodying the essence of its unique terroir and meticulous craftsmanship.
