WINE DESCRIPTION
This Kabinett Riesling is produed by Schlossgut Diel, a castle and winery owned by Armin Diel, whose daughter Caroline is now winemaker and proprietor. They are located in the Nahe region, known for their elegant, nervy, acid-driven Rieslings. The Riesling for this wine is sourced from a steep, sloped vineyard that consists of ten acres. Grapes are gently pressed and fermented in inert vessels as not to impart new oak spice, which would mask the delicate aromatic qualities of Riesling. The fermentation is halted prior to completion in order to retain sweetness, which helps offset the racy acidity that typifies Riesling grown in this marginal climate.
