WINE DESCRIPTION

Courtney Benham Unoaked Chardonnay is a ripe and fruit-forward, dry white wine hailing from the Mendocino County located in North Coast California. This wine is made exclusively from Chardonnay grapes grown in cool-climate sites. Grapes are gently pressed, before being fermented and matured for around 6 months in stainless steel vats to preserve the varietal character and vibrancy of fruit without seeking to impart oak spice.

This Courtney Benham Unoaked Chardonnay is a light and refreshing wine with an attractive brilliant pale golden appearance.Its nose is filled with aromas of pineapple, mango and stone fruit, along with subtle hints of honeysuckle. On the palate, the wine is bright yet creamy, with lively rounded that carries the ripe and succulent tropical and stone fruit flavors. There is a hint of freshly churned butter that adds a touch of decadence on the finish.

The North Coast of California boasts some of the most renowned vineyards and wineries in the world. Located in the northern part of the state, the North Coast is home to the Napa Valley, Sonoma County, and Mendocino County, all of which are recognised for their exceptional wines. The North Coast of California has a long and storied history of winemaking, dating back to the mid-1800s. The region was first planted with vines by Spanish missionaries, who planted Mission grapes in the area. In the late 1800s, Italian immigrants began to settle in the region, bringing with them their own grape varieties and winemaking techniques. By the early 1900s, the North Coast had become a major wine-producing region, with many of the wineries still in operation today.
