Ramiro Ibáñez, the visionary behind Cota 45, is on a mission to revive tradition and unveil the unique terroir of Jerez. As one of the most knowledgeable winemakers in southern Spain's storied region, Ramiro's journey began with a degree in enology and global experience. Returning to his Sanlúcar roots in 2009, he embarked on a quest to harness Jerez's essence. Establishing his "albarizatorio" in a former boat repair shop by the Guadalquivir river, he meticulously crafts wines that honor history and soil. Cota 45, named after the optimal 45-meter albariza soils, reflects Ramiro's dedication to preserving heritage and showcasing Jerez's extraordinary terroir.

Encrucijado, a unique blend of nearly extinct varieties – Perruno from Trebujena, Uva Rey from Arcos and Chiclana, and Palomino from Sanlúcar – sourced from diverse Albariza soils at varying elevations across the Marco de Jerez, is a true representation of a crossroad in winemaking.A precursor to Palo Cortado, this wine undergoes a distinctive aging process, both biologically and oxidatively, spanning approximately 2 years.
