WINE DESCRIPTION
The domain owes its name to the monopole vineyard, Clos des Epeneaux, a magnificent plot established at the end of the eighteenth century, covering just over five hectares of vineyards. In addition to an impressive balance of power and finesse, this Pommard also possesses a spiciness characteristic of this unique plot – it is the quintessence of a Burgundian Pinot Noir that wonderfully expresses the distinctive personality of its terroir. Numerous factors contribute significantly to this exceptional tasting experience: aside from the special geology of this vineyard and the up to 80-year-old vines planted in high density, the organic management of the vineyards and the separate harvesting of all plots with careful berry selection play an equally important role. Additionally, complete destemming of the berries, extended maceration times, and aging for almost two years in fine wooden barrels all contribute to this extraordinary enjoyment.
