Clos du Tue-Boeuf Vin Rouge is a youthful red wine made by highly regarded minimal interventionist producer Close de Tue-Boeuf. This wine is calssified as a Vin de France but the fruit used to make it is brought from growers in the Touraine area close to the winery. The composition of the wine varies. It is predominantly Gamay but in some years Cot, the local name for Malbec, is included in small amounts. This is an incomplicated style with forward crunchy fruit, refreshing acidity and a subtle chalky finish. It is a good introduction to minimal intervention wines and a fine partner to dips and crudites.
