Clos Cantenac Petit Cantenac Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is a distinguished red wine crafted by a meticulous winemaking approach. Produced by Clos Cantenac, this Saint-Émilion Grand Cru is a blend dominated by Merlot, complemented by Cabernet Franc, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The vineyard employs a hands-on harvesting method, picking each grape with care. The winemaking process includes a cold maceration to enhance fruit aromas, alcoholic fermentation with regular pumping over, and an extended post-fermentation maceration due to the exceptional quality of the fruit. Malolactic fermentation occurs in stainless steel and oak barrels, followed by aging in a combination of 40% new French oak and 60% 2nd & 3rd year barrels for 12 months. This meticulous process results in a wine known for its rich fruit character, balanced structure, and a subtle interplay of oak notes, making it a standout within the Saint-Émilion Grand Cru classification.
