WINE DESCRIPTION

Clendenen Le Bon Climat Pinot Noir is a red wine originally crafted by southern Californian icon Jim Clendenen of Au Bon Climat. Jim purchased this coastal vineyard in the late 1990s due to its cooling proximity to the ocean, which provides the perfect measure of acidity to balance the ripe fruit expression of the grapes. Jim had intended to farm using organic principes but was unable to achieve this on account of the farming practices of his neighbors. Due to the clash of farming methodology, Jim sold the vineyard in 2016. Whilst the wine is no longer in production, older vintages may exist in the market. Sadly, Jim passed away in 2021 but this wine remains a fitting legacy to the champion of Burgundian style restrain in American Pinot Noir.
