Clendenen Le Bon Climat Chardonnay is a premium wine produced by the family of the late winemaker Jim Clendenen from the Au Bon Climat Winery in Santa Maria Valley, California. The vineyard is known for its cool climate due to oceanic proximity, which imparts a distinct fresh character to the wine. The winemaking process involves hand-harvesting and whole-cluster pressing, followed by fermentation in French oak barrels. The focus of the project is to allow the wines the time needed to reach optimal expression more than the commercial timing of the releases. The resulting wine is rich and complex, with notes of ripe fruit, vanilla, and toasted oak. It has a balanced acidity and a long, smooth finish.
