WINE DESCRIPTION
The XL cuvée from Alain Brumont pays homage to his ancestors with its exceptional 600-liter barrel aging. Comprised of Tannat, this wine undergoes an extraordinary 36 to 40 months of maturation, topped with Adour River pebbles. This process yields a complex bouquet of cocoa, mocha, leather, and cigar box, while the palate is generous and mellow. Its richness and depth are a testament to Tannat's robust nature. Best enjoyed after 15 years, this wine comes from south-facing, well-drained slopes with clay and rounded pebbles, enhancing soil drainage and oxygenation. Vinification includes a 3 to 6-week maceration, fermentation at 28°C, and 40 months on lees in 600-liter barrels.
