WINE DESCRIPTION
Château Lagrange is the largest estate in Saint Julien. It is so large that part of it sits outside the boundaries of Saint Julien in the Haut Medoc appellation. This wine is made from a belnd of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot grapes, which are grown in part of the estate that lies within the Haut Medoc. The varieties are fermented separately in small lots based on vine age. The extraction regime is a gentle once a day and the wine is matured for 12 months is old oak barrels. The end result is a wine of moderate concentration with red fruit and tobacco notes with firm tannins and lean acidity. The wine ages well for 10 years and up to 15 in the best vintages. This is a good option for drinkers seeking a reliable source of well made, but simple Bordeaux.
