WINE DESCRIPTION
This white wine from Chateau Grand Traverse Riesling is produced from the Riesling grape that is known for retaining acidity lending itself perfectly to this semi dry style. After harvesting the grapes, they are pressed and fermented in stainless steel tanks to retain the bright varietal character. Some sweetness is retained to balance the steely acidity and produce a fruity easy-drinking wine.

The first vineyards in Michigan were planted in the early 1800s by French settlers. The state's wine industry grew steadily until Prohibition in the 1920s, when it was almost completely wiped out. After Prohibition, the industry slowly began to rebuild, and by the 1970s, there were over 100 wineries in the state.
