WINE DESCRIPTION
Chateau Grand Traverse Late Harvest Riesling is produced from grapes that have been left on the vine for longer to accumulate greater aromatic intensity and richness. After the Riesling grapes have been pressed, they are fermented in stainless steel tanks for a short period before the fermentation is halted to retain sweetness in the final wine.

Michigan is a state in the Great Lakes region of the United States, located in the north-central part of the country. Michigan has a long history of winemaking, with the first vineyards planted in the early 1800s, but plantings are currently on the rise.
The first vineyards in Michigan were planted in the early 1800s by French settlers. The state's wine industry grew steadily until Prohibition in the 1920s, when it was almost completely wiped out. After Prohibition, the industry slowly began to rebuild, and by the 1970s, there were over 100 wineries in the state.
