It takes a moment to understand the place of Château des Tours within the modern history of the southern Rhone Valley. Château des Tours is the home family estate of Emmanuel Reynaud. In 1997, after the passing of his uncle Jacques, Emmanuel also took on the operation of Chateaux Rayas and Fonsalette. Their is perhaps no estate of greater acclaim in the souther Rhone than Rayas, critic Robert Parker once said that the 1990 Chateau Rayas was the most prizes wine is his collectoon. The lineage of Château des Tours, and its winemaker is beyond compare. This wine is 100% Grenache Blanc. The vineyards are not certified organic due to Emmanuel's dislike of regulatory processes. However, the practices followed are in full compliance with organic requirements.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
This Château des Tours Côtes du Rhône Réservé Blanc is a delicately balanced white wine with a complex bouquet of citrus, white flowers, and fresh herbs. On the palate, it reveals flavors of lemon, stone fruit, and white pepper, all held together by a smooth texture and a vibrant, mineral-driven finish. Well-integrated oak adds a layer of complexity to this graceful, refined wine.
The Rhone wine region is located in southeastern France. It runs along the Rhone River roughly from Lyon in the north to Avignon in the south. It is divided into two main sub-regions: the Northern Rhone, running from Lyon to Montelimar, and the Southern Rhone, from Montelimar to Avignon. Although wines of all color are made, both regions are most famous for thier red wine. The Northern Rhone is known for its full-bodied red wines made from Syrah grapes with the possible inclusion of some white grapes, while the Southern Rhone is known for its blends of Grenache, Syrah, and Mourvèdre grapes. The region has a long history of wine production, dating back to the ancient Romans with the sites of some former Roman vineyards being replanted surrounding the town of Vienne.

Namu
Wine with a rich, fruity beginning that gradually unfolds into a complex, nuanced profile, featuring tones of apple, slatey honey, and elderflower. A good starting point for those new to this Chateau des Tours white, but be prepared to let it breathe for a while to fully appreciate its depth.

A cohesive pairing of Grenache Blanc with a seafood-inspired menu, featuring tuna sashimi and duck confit salad, was a perfect match for this wine's smooth, oily texture and nuanced citrus flavors.

The Grenache Blanc from Chateau des Tours is a masterclass in integration and restraint, with a nose that unfurls like a tropical paradise. The soft pineapple and ripe apple tones are expertly woven together, as the creamy crispness provides a silky supple texture. As the wine opens, the tropical fruit and flower petals unfold, revealing a elegant union of tones that will only improve with time. The finish is long and satisfying, with a warm, spicy note that persists on the palate.
