WINE DESCRIPTION
Château Cos Labory is a Saint Estephe property that was rated as a Fifth Growth Grand Cru Classé in the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The vineyard is situated on a gravelly plateau, which provides excellent drainage and encourages the vines to produce grapes with concentrated flavors. The winemaking process involves traditional techniques, including hand-harvesting, optical sorting for uniform grape quality, and aging in a proportion of new, French, oak barrels, resulting in a wine that is rich and complex. The style of the wine is characterized by its deep ruby color, aromas of black fruit and spice, and a full-bodied palate with firm tannins and a long finish. Overall, Château Cos Labory Saint-Estèphe is a wine that showcases the best of Bordeaux winemaking traditions and terroir. This chateau has a tendency to shine in lesser vintages. The property was brought by the neighboring estate of Cos D'Estrounel in 2023. At this stage, the intention is for the estates to remain separate.

This Château Cos Labory Saint-Estèphe (Grand Cru Classé) is a typical Saint Estephe wine.It has a dark ruby color and a nose of mint-tinged cassis. The palate is medium-bodied and highly structured with firm tannins and lean acidity that is never as plush as that of neighboring Pauillac. The finish is long and dominated by tobacco and oak spice. This wine can be drunk now but will begin to show its best after 15 years and will hold at its peak for another 10 years. Serve with parsley-crusted rack of lamb.
