WINE DESCRIPTION
Caves Velhas Cabeça de Toiro Reserva Tinto is a red blend produced in the Tejo region of Portugal. This wine is comprised of the indigenous Touriga Nacional, a thick-skinned variety known for giving highly tannic reds with notes of blackcurrant and violets, alongside Castelão and Syrah. The grapes are completely destemmed before being fermented in stainless steel vats and matured in French oak barrels for around 9 months prior to bottling.

Caves Velhas Cabeça de Toiro Reserva Tinto has an inky ruby hue.The nose offers an array of ripe dark fruits, such as blackberries, blackcurrant and plums, intertwined with hints of spices and oak. The palate shows a good balance between fruit concentration and tannic structure. Rich flavors of black plum, blackcurrants, and dark chocolate unfold on the tongue, accompanied by firm tannins that are assertive without being overly austere. The wine has a medium to full body and a moderate length finish.
