Caudalia Xi'Ipal Gracia Vid is a red wine that showcases the lesser known grape variety, Graciano. Graciano is grown across Navarra and Rioja in Spain but is smaller amounts due to it being prone to low yields and mildew. It is rare to find a varietal example. Caudalia has persisted to produce this fine example. The grapes come from a single parcel of young vines. The must sees three days of cold soaking to maximize aromas before fermentation with ambient yeasts. The wine is matured for 18 months in large, neutral, French oak for textural complexity. The result is a deeply coloured with with lifted notes of blackberry, mint, connamon and violet with firm but fine grained tannins and a generous mouthfeel. This is also a great wine to have on hand during game season as it matches well with meats like kangaroo and duck.
