Cathedral Ridge Bangsund Vineyard Pinot Noir is produced from grapes grown in the Columbia Gorge appellation in Washington State.
The vines are over 40 years old, resulting in naturally smaller berries with more concentrated flavors. Grapes are often picked just a little before full ripe in order to guard against heat waves that can hit this site, however a portion of this vineyard is shaded for part of day by trees which helps slow retard, meaning grapes can be picked at optimal ripeness whilst retaining acidity. Maturation takes place in large neutral oak barrels to avoid masking Pinot Noir's subtle flavors with oak spice and allow the site to take center stage.
