WINE DESCRIPTION
Castello di Bolgheri is a historic cornerstone of winemaking in the Bolgheri region. It's nestled near the iconic Viale di San Guido, flanked by 2,000 cypress trees. The estate spans 1,220 hectares, with 1,050 dedicated to Bolgheri DOC production. A select group of vintners ensures modest yields. Since 1984, the estate has owned 130 hectares, primarily planted with vines in the northern Bolgheri DOC. Benefitting from favorable terroir and natural drainage, it dates back to the 13th century, owned by the della Gherardesca family for 30 generations. Conte Federico Zileri dal Verme now leads the estate, focusing on Bordeaux varietals, producing the renowned Castello di Bolgheri Superiore since 2004.
