Founded by Charles Serres, a Frenchman born in New Orleans in 1862, the Bodega has a rich heritage. In 1885, Charles Serres became an oenologist in Spain, crafting wines for Parisian wine merchant Alfonso Vigier. When he established his own Bodega in 1896, he combined French wine elegance with the Rioja region's tradition and character. His son, Carlos Serres Jr. (born in Haro in 1903), took over and became a prominent winemaker in La Rioja after studying oenology in Bordeaux. Today, Bodega Carlos Serres continues this tradition, dedicated to winemaking excellence.
