WINE DESCRIPTION

Carillon Rosso di Montalcino is a highly tannic and refreshing wine made entirely from the Sangiovese Grosso clone from vineyards located on the hills of Montalcino. The grapes are sourced from younger vines that will eventually be destined to produce Brunello di Montalcino. Grapes are crushed and fermented on skins with a moderate level of extraction to craft a highly structured wine. Finally, the ageing takes place in wood for approximately 12 months in new barrels of Slavonian oak with a further period of ageing in bottle for at least 6 months prior to release.

Carillon Rosso di Montalcino leaps from the glass with red fruits such as sour cherries, tart red plum and raspberries, accompanied by subtle floral notes and a touch of spice.The wine has a full body with firm and assertive tannins that provide a grippy texture. The flavors of red fruits persist, complemented by hints of earthiness and a touch of oak. The acidity adds a refreshing quality and contributes to its overall balance, whilst the finish is persistent with touches of turned earth and a savory edge.
