Camille Giroud Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru comes from one of the larger Grand Cru vineyards in the Côte de Nuits, in the Burgundy region of France. The grapes come from the southwestern section of the Clos de Vougeot, southeast-facing, brown limestone soils. After hand harvesting, the grapes are crushed and undergo a fermentation. Finally, the wine is matured for around 10 months in barrels before the wine is bottled. The resulting wine is a powerful, age-worthy and extremely complex expression of Pinot Noir that has diverse gastronomic applications.
NOTES FROM VINOVOSS SOMMELIER
Camille Giroud Clos de Vougeot Grand Cru shimmers in the glass with a medium ruby hue.The nose is initially a little shy and reticent with ripe red fruits, such as cherries and raspberries, intertwined with delicate floral notes of violets. There is also a subtle hint of earthiness, adding depth and intrigue to the wine. The palate shows supreme harmony and balance between fruit concentration, fresh acidity, and silky tannins. The red fruit flavors continue to shine, accompanied by nuances of truffle and a touch of seamlessly integrated oak that lingers on the extremely persistent finish.
