WINE DESCRIPTION
Bugay Cabernet Franc is a mono-varietal red wine produced by Watkins Family Winery, a family-owned estate located in Sonoma County. The grapes for this wine are sourced entirely from the Bugay Vineyard, situated on the rocky Mayacamas Mountain slopes. The grapes are typically hand harvested, crushed and fermented in inert vessels before being matured for around 20 months in a combination of new and used French oak barrels prior to bottling. This perfumed and expressive red wine is the perfect accompaniment to intensely flavored lamb and beef dishes.

This Bugay Cabernet Franc is a full-bodied and robust red wine with a deep purple color that stains the glass.On the nose, it carries aromas of blackcurrant, blackberry and plum coupled with hints of oak-derived cedar and vanilla. These aromas are accompanied by floral and herbal notes of lavender and violets that gives the wine an aromatic lift. On the palate, there are flavors of ripe blackberry, and plum, along with a subtle hint of spice and tobacco. The tannins are firm and well-integrated, providing balance and framing the lengthy finish.
