Crafted from Trebbiano, Sangiovese, and Malvasia, this Italian gem hails from Meleto and S.Piero vineyards, perched 400 meters above sea level and planted between 1972 and 1974. With 3,500-5,000 vines per hectare, yields reach 6 tons (Trebbiano/Malvasia) and 5 tons (Sangiovese). The Guyot-trained vines undergo a meticulous harvest and natural withering, followed by fermentation and aging in mixed wood casks for 4-5 years. The result is an amber elixir boasting dried fruits, honey, apricot, vanilla, and spice notes. Its full, velvety palate showcases great structure, roundness, and a lingering finish, beautifully balanced with acidity.

The Guicciardini family, one of Florence's oldest, has held a prominent role in the city's political, social, and economic life since 1200. Their history is intertwined with the Castello di Poppiano, a medieval fortress built around the year 1000 to defend Florence. A 1199 inheritance document confirms the castle has been in the Guicciardini family for at least nine centuries. Today, the estate is a key player in the DOCG "Chianti Colli Fiorentini." The "alberese" soils, clayey but rich in skeleton and well-drained, are ideal for producing quality wines. The winery is next to the castle, while the aging cellar with oak barrels and barriques is located underground, maintaining optimal natural temperatures. Since 2015, Castello di Poppiano also includes Belvedere-Campòli in Chianti Classico and Massi di Mandorlaia in the Maremma, within the Morellino di Scansano appellation.
