WINE DESCRIPTION
Beyra Tinto is a red blend from the Beira Interior region of Portugal. This region is the most mountainous region in mainland Portugal, benefitting from a range of cooler, high elevation sites. The wine is composed predominantly of Tinta Roriz (Tempranillo) with a proportion of Touriga Nacional and Jaen (Mencia) sourced from dry farmed vineyards. The grapes are hand-picked before being de-stemmed, crushed and fermented in cement vats. The wines are aged for around 1 year in stainless steel vats until bottling to harmonise the flavors without imparting oak spice.

Beyra Tinto is a red wine from the Beira Interior, boasting a deep ruby color.On the nose, you can expect aromas of ripe dark berries, such as blackberries and blackcurrants, along with hints of spices and earthy notes. The palate offers a well-balanced combination of fruit concentration and tannins, with flavors of dark fruits, pepper, and a touch of violets. Whilst the wine is not overly complex, the finish is pleasant and medium in length, leaving a pleasant impression of ripe dark fruits.

Beira Interior is a Portuguese wine region located in the central part of the country, in the Beiras region.
Beira Interior has a long history of winemaking, dating back to the Roman Empire. The region was known for its high-quality wines, and it was even mentioned in the writings of the Roman poet Virgil. In the Middle Ages, the region was known for its fortified wines, which were popular throughout Europe.
